Congratulations to Ramey Arnold (ReelGrace), of Los Angeles, our "Diva of the Month" for April 2003! ReelGrace is a soul/funk vocalist, and songwriter, with a strong background in dance and theater.

United Divas founders have teamed up and created a visual presentation and lecture for schools and educators. Friday, March 28th marked the first presentation for Sara, Kathy, and Jan, when they were invited by Meg Cranston to be guest speakers for her Sr. Fine Arts: New Genres class at Otis College of Art and Design. The presentation was a great success, for both the students and the presenters. Their second presentation was on Monday, March 31st, for quite a different audience. Fern, of Brass Knuckles, invited the divas to present to his 5th grade writing class at an elementary school in Venice (on Abbot Kinney). Kathy and Jan presented a similar visual presentation, with more breaks for questions and answers to create a more interactive presentation for 10-11 year olds. This was also a huge success. A group of boys even asked for autographs after the presentation. They though it was really adorable, and even a bit flattering.

A special thanks goes to Meg and Fern for inviting the Divas to speak to your classes, and an even bigger thanks goes to all of the students for being such a great audience. They look forward to visiting more campuses in the future.

We are always searching to find our next diva of the month. Each month we recognize a multi-disciplined female artist as diva of the month.
If you are chosen to be a diva, you will get:

- Your own "gallery" in our artists' section where you can post music, video, photos, and more web friendly formats of your work. You can send us new information, and we will update it once a month for as long as you like.
- An email interview that will be archived in your gallery section.
- A link, with a photo, to your gallery and your interview from the home page of our website for your first Month.
- Inclusion in our events listings & monthly newsletter announcements, as long as you provide updated information for us to use.
- Inclusion in our referrals pool. When someone contacts us for something that you might be able to do, you will automatically be included in our referrals. You are not required to be exclusive to United Divas. We are not an agency, just a group of artists sharing resources.
- To participate in our annual event that showcases the multiple talents of our divas. Proceeds from this annual event will be used to start a scholarship fund for single mothers and mothers from low-income households to further their education in the arts. You are not required to participate in this event, but you will have first choice for involvement and planning.
