With a bachelor of fine art's degree in digital media design, Kathy Lajvardi excels as a respected designer for broadcast graphics. Graduating from Otis College of Art and Design, Kathy started out as a freelance After Effects designer for D.inc Design, a small graphics house in Hermosa Beach, CA. While working at D.inc, she completed the "Bad Boys Week" graphics package for TNN.
After a summer with D.inc, she earned herself a position designing on-air graphics for the Warner Brothers TV show “Extra”. Her duties included designing, animating, and creating the concept for the weekend show graphics package. While at Extra, she created the concept, designed, and animated the graphics for “Celebrity Justice”, which is now a nation-wide show.
After a year as the lead designer at “Extra”, she took her experience and accepted a challenging new opportunity, running the graphics department for “City Explorer TV”. Here was where she also got a chance to enter the realm of directing and editing. While at City Explorer, she recreated the show’s identity, giving it a contemporary, hip look to fit today’s consumer trends.
Today, Kathy has once again entered the wonderful world of freelancing. Current clients include Brass Knuckles Editorial in Venice Beach California, NBC Studios in Burbank, G4TV in Santa Monica, and Kaleidoscope Film Group in Beverly Hills. In addition to this, she created titles for the independent film “Planet of the Pitts”, and the titles for the movie “Bandido”, from the producer of “Once Upon a Time in Mexico”.
