MARISA YOULDEN JEWELRY & PHOTOGRAPHY
Marisa Youlden was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay area, but has been transplanted into Los angeles for the past two years.
Her mother was a goldsmith which caused Marisa to grow up wantonly admiring her stone collection. This is how she become a gemstone addict! Traveling the US performing in Gypsy Theater shows and later becoming a fire performer, producing a show called the PyroPixies that toured the west coast out door festival circuit for two years. When living in Ashland Oregon where a group of friends developed another Circus Fire performing group known famously as El Circo Marisa had the opportunity to perform and travel with this circus for 5 years. This is where she developed her skills as a jewelry designer in order to create individuality in the character?s costumes with Jewelry and other accessories.
Her jewelry is all handcrafted, mixing and balancing techniques and aesthetics borrowed from Ancient tribal jewelry design as well as modern hi tech design sensibilities and metalsmithing.
Her passion is to create outrageous costume jewelry with a couture high end twist. Perfect for Runway, Photo-shoots, Music Video and Film! It is regularly used for all those applications. It is not for the person who believes less is more. It is about expression and fantasy and living in the dream of a beautiful future and an ancient past coming together to create a magical present!
Marisa has had her work featured in Runway shows with Onda By Tiffa Novoa , also Ernte by Tiffa Novoa and Evan Sugarman. Her work was also featured in an Exhibition at the ?Loveless? boutique in Tokyo, Japan with Ernte Fashion Systems in 2006.
Her jewelry has also been featured in Nina at Fred Segal in Santa Monica for the past 2 years.
She was recently featured in a runway show in LA in combination with Skin. Graft. Designs by Cassidy Haley and Jonathan Cota.
A number of celebrities wearing and featuring jewelry by Marisa Youlden in their productions include, Shakira who wore a body harness and headdress in her performance for the 2006 MTV Video music awards, also Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue, Pink, My Chemical Romance , Amber Smith of Maxim?x hot 100 fame,and the Dixie Chicks.
In the new year, Marisa hopes to be designing for more Music Videos and Feature Films as well!
Marisa photographs her own work as well as doing event photography. She is currently working for Jack Caputo Photography and Video Production Inc. in Brentwood , as a wedding/event photographer and post production assistant. Jack is known as one of the best wedding photographers in Los Angeles. At the moment her focus is on the production of wedding album magazine layouts and editing slideshow DVD's. Marisa hopes to eventually learn videography and video editing as well. That is the next challenge!!!!
