BIO
Vonetta Taylor is a visual artist with large and expansive interests. Vonetta has been inspired to create for as long as she can remember. While attending Cornell University on a full scholarship in the College of Engineering, she pursued studies in modern dance, creative writing, comparative literature, and Swahili along with the traditional mathematics and sciences. She lived abroad for 6 months in Kenya and Tanzania, studying East African cultures and history, before subsequently completing her studies at Cornell with a degree in cultural anthropology. While her path to the visual arts may be circuitous, her interests and research training have largely contributed to her success as a self-taught designer.
Today, Vonetta’s work is viewed by millions of viewers across the globe, garnering numerous awards. Working in Los Angeles, she has designed commercial advertisements for a multitude of clients such as Coca-Cola, Lexus, Gap, Ford, Banana Republic, Jaguar, Adidas and Directv. While working with the visual effects company, A52, Vonetta created, designed, and art directed the show open “Carnivale” for HBO, for which she was awarded an Emmy for Best Main Title Design in 2004.
While she continues to design and art direct commercial and promotional projects for television, Vonetta’s work is currently expanding into branding, print, interactive media, and film. She is continually planning collaborations with talented teams of artists, directors, editors, and designers who share her creative drive to produce beautiful and compelling projects.
